Baseball JV1 Red wins season opener

The Fishers Tigers JV Red team (1-0/0-0) defeated the McCutcheon Mavericks by a score of 16-6 in 6 innings to open the 2025 season. The Tigers offense used 10 hits and 9 walks to score runs in five out of the six innings. After the Mavericks scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning, the Tigers answered right back to tie up the game. The big inning for the Tigers was the 2nd as they scored 7 runs, including 5 with 2 outs. Andrew Baldini singled to drive in his second run of the night, and Carlos Altuve added a single that scored two more runs. Fishers would add 3 more runs in both the 5th and 6th innings before hitting the 10 run rule. Grant Wolf doubled in the 5th to drive in two runs. Collin Bumps provided a sacrifice fly before Sean Frey grounded out to drive in the 16th run of the night. Blake Wilson earned the win on the mound as he went 3 innings scattering 3 hits while striking out 4. Jerry Jaramillo was also excellent in relief as he finished with 3 strong innings.
