On Saturday morning, your JV Fishers Tigers completed their JV season with a 20-14 win over the Zionsville Eagles to finish the season 7-2! The game started slow, with the defenses forcing multiple three and outs in the first quarter. The second quarter was owned by the Tigers. After a forced punt, the offense took the field and after some trickery, Darian Girton ended up with the ball and threw it to Frank Fessenden for the first touchdown of the game. The Tigers continued the trickery with an onsides kick by George Leblanc, recovered by Thomas McDowell! The Tigers drove the field and on a broken play, Jaxson Andrews found Hudson Bell for the second touchdown of the game, making the score 13-0 at halftime. Coming out of halftime, the Tigers were forced to punt, but the Eagle muffed the punt return and Camron Haag recovered it! On the ensuing play, Darian Girton took a jet sweep off the right side and scored a touchdown to make the score 20-0. Unfortunately, that would be the last points the Tigers would score. At the end of the 4th quarter, the Tigers were forced to punt out of their own endzone, which was blocked. On the kickoff, the Eagles were able to get a great return, which set them up in great field position for their first score of the game. In a clutch play, Owen Stout was able to block the extra point with a fantastic layout, making the score 20-8. With about 5 minutes remaining in the game, the Eagles scored their second touchdown to make the score 20-14. With 3 minutes left in the game, the offense had to punt it back to Zionsville. They were able to drive all the way down to the 10-yard line. On a 4th and 5 from the 10, Coooooooper Stout finished the game with a sack to secure the victory! Thank you to all the parents, refs, administration, and volunteers throughout the season for your support. We could not have done it without you. Up next is the bye week, before getting into tournament play with the varsity. Go Tigers!
