Fishers wins regular season finale

The Fishers Tigers traveled to Zionsville for the regular season finale. The Tigers outgained the Eagles on the ground and through the air as Fishers ran for 128 yards and passed for 284 yards. Fishers scored three times on the ground – twice by Brady Griffitts and once by Ryan Thembulembu. JonAnthony Hall had 148 yards receiving for the Tigers and Caden Hill found Vincent Rozzi for a 13-yard score. The Eagles received the opening kickoff, but the Tigers defense was quick to force a punt. Tristan Johnson came right up the middle and partially blocked the punt as Fishers took over at midfield. The Tigers offense gained yards but was ultimately also forced to punt. After another Eagles punt, Hill found JonAnthony Hall for a 19-yard reception on 4th down to keep the drive alive. However, the Zionsville defense stepped up on the goal line and forced a turnover on downs late in the 1st quarter. The Tigers got on the board first early in the 2nd quarter. Hill found Hall for a 41-yard pass to get the Tigers inside the 5 yard line. Two plays later, Ryan Thembulembu found the end zone for a 1-yard score. After two punts from the Eagles sandwiched around a Tigers punt, the Fishers offense again got moving. Hill found Hall for a 48-yard gain and also finished the drive as he found Vincent Rozzi for a 13-yard score to give the Tigers a 13-0 lead. The Eagles answered back with a scoring drive at the end of the half. Eli Showalter found Eugene Hilton on a screen pass that Hilton took 38 yards down the sideline. On 4th and short, Sam Manna cut back and scored from 6 yards out to make the score 13-6 in favor of the Tigers at halftime. The Tigers offense continued rolling through the 2nd half. Fishers put together a 10-play 70-yard drive coming out of the locker room. Brady Griffitts finished the drive with a 1-yard run to push the lead to 20-6. The Eagles drove to midfield on their drive, but a fumble was recovered by Jev Hutton to give the ball back to the Tigers. Fishers drove down to the 1, but a penalty and a bobbled snap forced a 26-yard field goal by Jon Tangara. Fishers continued gaining yards and putting points on the board in the 4th quarter as Griffitts again found the end zone to push the lead to 30-6 in favor of the Tigers.
