JV1 Red Baseball Hold Off Westfield Rally for 13–11 Win

By Matt Poisel | Apr 23, 2026 10:00 PM

The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (6–4, 4–4 HCC) jumped out to an early offensive surge and held off a late comeback attempt by the Westfield Shamrocks, securing a 13–11 victory. Fishers wasted no time getting on the board in the top of the first inning. Cullen Wolf ignited the scoring with an RBI triple, followed by an RBI double from Kellan Ferguson. Isaac Fernandez and Aaron Einsfeld each added RBI hits to give the Tigers a 4–0 advantage after one. The Tigers’ biggest inning came in the third, when they strung together five hits and plated six runs to extend their lead to 13–2. The outburst included a triple from Drake Carnahan and featured a lineup that produced two doubles and three triples on the day. Westfield refused to go quietly, chipping away at the deficit over the next three innings and eventually bringing the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning. Fishers’ pitching staff, however, was able to bend without breaking to preserve the win. Preston Tidwell earned the victory on the mound, throwing three hitless innings. Despite issuing several walks that allowed the Shamrocks to score four runs, Tidwell kept Westfield off balance early. Carnahan was strong in relief, closing out the final two innings while allowing three hits and just one earned run to seal the win.
