Fishers High School Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Miles Wayer as the next Head Coach of the Boys Basketball program, pending board approval. Wayer will replace Coach Garrett Winegar, who has led the Tigers with dedication and commitment to excellence. Coach Wayer brings a strong combination of head coaching experience and a deep understanding of Indiana basketball. Most recently, he has served as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Greenfield-Central High School, where he led a full program rebuild, established a culture centered on accountability and development, and guided his team to exceed preseason expectations while competing in the 4A Sectional championship. Prior to his time at Greenfield-Central, Wayer was an assistant coach at Fishers High School, contributing to one of the top programs in the state. During his tenure, the Tigers achieved significant success, including a 73–14 record over three seasons, multiple Sectional, Regional, and Semi-State titles, a State Runner-Up finish, and the 2024 IHSAA 4A State Championship. Wayer will also join the Fishers High School Physical Education Department. He holds a degree in Business Administration / Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. “We are excited to welcome Coach Wayer back to Fishers,” said Fishers Athletic Director Rob Seymour. “He understands our culture, values the development of the whole student-athlete, and brings a proven ability to build relationships, develop talent, and lead a program with purpose. His energy and vision align with what we expect from Fishers Basketball.” Fishers Athletics extends its appreciation to Coach Garrett Winegar for his leadership and impact on the program and looks forward to the continued growth and success of Tigers Basketball under Coach Wayer’s leadership.
