By Matt Poisel | Apr 22, 2026 10:00 PM
The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red (5–4, 3–4 HCC) secured a dramatic 6–5 walk-off victory over the Westfield Shamrocks on Wednesday night, powered by a clutch double from Drake Carnahan. Fishers struck first in the opening inning when Kellan Ferguson delivered a sacrifice fly to score Jackson Pinchouck. The Tigers added to their lead in the second as Carnahan and Eli Poisel each drove in runs with RBI hits, followed by Preston Tidwell grounding out to the right side to bring home another run for a 4–0 advantage. While the offense jumped out early, Tigers starter Cooper Yeakle was dominant on the mound. Yeakle was perfect through the first four innings, recording 9 of his first 12 outs by way of strikeout. Westfield finally broke through in the fifth, scoring two runs to narrow the gap. Fishers responded in the bottom of the sixth when Cullen Wolf singled to drive in a run and extend the Tigers’ lead to 5–2. The Shamrocks refused to go quietly, however, mounting a comeback in the seventh inning to tie the game at five. In the bottom half of the inning, Henry Cherry drew a leadoff walk and courtesy runner Chase LoGreco stole 2nd to advance into scoring position. On the first pitch he saw, Carnahan launched a double over the left fielder’s head, bringing home the winning run and sealing the Tigers’ walk-off victory. Hayden Dowell earned the win for Fishers, recording the final out in the top of the seventh on just one pitch. Although Yeakle did not factor into the decision, his final line was outstanding: 6 innings pitched, 4 hits allowed, 2 runs, no walks, and 11 strikeouts.
