The Fishers Tigers JV1 Red team (3–0, 2–0 HCC) remained unbeaten with a 3–1 victory over the Zionsville Eagles, relying on timely two out hitting, sharp pitching, and strong defensive play. Fishers scored all three of its runs in the top of the second inning, capitalizing with two outs. Isaac Fernandez jumpstarted the rally with a single and a stolen base to move into scoring position. Eli Poisel followed with a clutch single to drive in Fernandez and give the Tigers the lead. Kellen Miller kept the inning alive with another single to plate Poisel, and Jackson Pinchouck capped the scoring with a double that brought Miller home. Those three runs proved to be enough, as the Tigers’ defense consistently rose to the occasion, stranding nine Zionsville runners on base throughout the game. Preston Tidwell earned the win on the mound, tossing three shutout innings while allowing just three hits and striking out two. The defense backed him up, highlighted by a smooth 4 6 3 double play turned by Pinchouck to Fernandez. Thomas Downey Underwood delivered two strong innings of relief, surrendering only two hits. He allowed the Eagles’ lone run on a bases loaded hit by pitch but bounced back to induce a pop fly and escape further damage. Hayden Dowell closed the door to secure the save, throwing the final two innings and allowing only one hit while striking out four batters.
