Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School

The Mustangs get their first win of the season tonight against the Clinton Central Bulldogs 40 to 33. Fountain Central got off to another good start, although this time it was with their defense as they held the Bulldogs to just two points in the first quarter. They continued that defensive effort in the second quarter as the Bulldogs were held to just eight points in the first half. The Mustangs went into the half with a 22-8 lead, but with three starters facing foul trouble. Clinton Central found a groove offensively in the second half as they continued to chip away at the Mustang lead. The Bulldogs were able to get the lead down to single digits a few times in the fourth quarter until they had to foul to extend the game. Fountain Central was able to get some big baskets at the end of the game from Ayden Batchelor and Noah Dodson, as well as some clutch free throws from Gavin McCollum and Eli Foxworthy. The Mustangs were led in points by Eli Foxworthy with 19, followed by Ayden Batchelor with 7 and Kayden Myers with 7 coming off the bench.
