Evansville Harrison High School Athletics

Harrison wrestling coach Mark Mastison announced his intention to retire following the 2023-2024season at the conclusion at the SIAC championships on Jan. 20. His decision comes after 16 years as head coach, which were preceded by stints as an assistant under coach John Williams and coach David Mayse and all while continuing to work for the Evansville Fire Department. He was previously a referee and worked four semi-states for the IHSAA. He loved coaching and helping in every way of wrestling. Mastison had a personal record in high school of 64-24-2, was a state qualifier in 1982 and the first Harrison wrestler to place and score team points. Mastison is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis, four year varsity letter winner, team captain in 1986, and held the schools record for the fastest pin in 1982-1983 of eight seconds. Transferring schools mid-year and joining a new sport is hard, and Coach Mark was there to help me every step of the way.
