Varsity and Middle Musketeers both win big at Scottsburg in softball

The Varsity version of Lady Musketeers softball on 12-2 on the road against the Lady Warriorettes of Scottsburg. Leading the way was junior Sahara Short who hit a grand slam in the first inning to cap an 8 run first inning on their way to the win. Senior Sidney Patton earned the win on the mound throwing three scoreless innings and Allie Johanningsmeier closed it out with 2 innings and 5 Ks. Short went 1-3 with 3 runs scored and 4 RBIs. Ivy Dixon, Bracie Jackson and Alyssa Calloway all chipped in hits as well. The 7-9 Lady Musketeers game against Austin for tonight has been moved to a 9am start on Saturday morning. A busy week is ahead for Varsity softball. Tomorrow night we host Corydon, Thursday night North Harrison comes to Eastern and on Friday night Southwestern comes to Pekin. The middle school version of the Lady Musketeers nearly duplicated their older sisters with a 12-3 win. Cheyenne Dyer struck out 12 batters in the circle and had 3 doubles and 2 RBI. Lexi K had 2 hits and Halle R had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Lakyn H was 1-2 for a double and 2 RBI. The middle school Musketeers are 7-5. The last middle school game is at Crothersville tomorrow evening.
