The Demotte Christian Knights are Midwest Conference Champions in girls golf! The conference tournament took place Tuesday afternoon at Sandy Pines Golf Club, and DMC prevailed with a team score of 218. Tri-County came in second with a 225, North Newton third with a 241, and Faith Christian fourth with a 242. The Knights boasted three all-conference performers. Allie Myers finished second with a 50, Audrey DeVries shot a 51, finishing third, and Addy Lundy’s 53 was good for fourth. Tri-County’s Grace Tyler took the individual title after shooting a 50 and defeating Myers in a sudden death playoff. This victory marks just the third conference title in Demotte Christian history, since the Knights joined the MWC in 2022. Girls golf joins cross country (2023) and boys basketball (2023-24) as the first three programs to capture a conference championship. What makes the feat even more impressive is the fact that this is only the third season of girls golf at Demotte Christian. The team will recognize its four seniors on Tuesday night (9/17) at Sandy Pines at 3:30. Audrey DeVries, Allie Myers, Addy Lundy, and Carly Musch have been the foundation of the program since their first year, and we can’t wait to celebrate them on Tuesday afternoon. The Knights also look forward to competing in IHSAA sectionals next Monday (9/23) at Tippecanoe Golf Club in Monticello where they’ll hope to continue on the success of their season. Congrats, ladies!
