DeMotte Christian Knights

The story of the Knights Girls Soccer game tonight centers around resilience in the face of adversity. Coming into the game with just 11 active players, DeMotte Christian battled, but ultimately fell to Culver Community by a score of 1-2. To start the game, the Knights came out with energy and positivity, despite losing starting midfielder Melanie DeBoer and starting goalie Eva Orsburn. The Knights were the aggressors and held possession consistently and better the first goal of the game. Elsie Burlingham finished the lefty shot to give the Knights the 1-0 lead. Throughout the game, the Knights passed well and had great opportunities, but failed to capitalize on them. Culver's outstanding junior, Ava McCune took advantage of the few opportunities the Knights gave her and found the net on two distant shots, ultimately leading the Cavaliers to a 2-1 victory. Each Knight stepped up to the challenge in the game today, but special mention should be given to Ainsley Wories for stepping into the goal for the first time in her career and holding her own between the pipes. Lydia Frump and Hope Terpstra also gave great efforts in the midfield, getting involved in plays all over the field. The Knights look forward to capitalize on the weekend and come back home on Tuesday night for a matchup with East Chicago.
