Middle School vs New Haven Middle School (4 - 1) Win The Dekalb Middle School lady baron soccer team defeated the New Haven Middle school lady bulldogs 4-1. Our first goal was scored by Lily Rhodes. Caroline Bigelow was fouled inside the penalty area to get the penalty kick awarded. Lilly was able to finish the ball from the penalty mark to put us on the board. Our second goal came from Caroline Bigelow. This goal started from our center defender, Ashlynn Rathburn, who played the ball to Anna Holbrook, our center midfielder. Anna was able to find Caroline up top, who collected the ball and found the back of the net. Our third goal came from Delia King. Abby Todd sent a corner kick in to Delia who was able to dribble through the defensive line for the finish. Our fourth goal came from Delia King. Hailee Keller placed a well paced pass to Delia, who shot the ball past the keeper. Delia King was able to secure a first half shut out thanks to the sixth and seventh grade defensive line of Anna Bidwell, Ashlynn Rathburn, Samantha McDowell, and Lilly Grimm who did not allow a shot on goal. Elena Norrick covered a lot of ground in goal helping clear a few loose balls past the defensive line and finding a lot of range in the box to grab some loose passes. Elena only allowed one goal in the second half from a lady bulldog breakaway. Another team win top to bottom for the lady barons tonight. The lady barons continue to grow their soccer skills, love for the game and their teammates. The lady barons will play on their home pitch Thursday against the Crestview lady cougars at 6:30p.
