For the seventh time in program history, the boys golf team qualified for regionals as a team after securing a third-place finish at Monday’s sectional meet at the Golf Club of Indiana. The Warriors posted a team score of 347 and were led by senior Joe Midla, who shot an 80 and tied for 7th individually. Junior Caleb Faris followed with an 83, while freshmen Andrew Herbert (89) and Brayden Mansard (95) rounded out the scoring. The team finished behind Brebeuf Jesuit (298) and Speedway (315), but outpaced Decatur Central (355), Pike (365), Cardinal Ritter (386), Ben Davis (414), and Purdue Polytechnic (426). The Warriors now advance to Friday’s Regional #3 at Coyote Crossing Golf Club in West Lafayette, with a scheduled tee time of approximately 10:30 a.m. Spectators can park at the golf club (5801 Augusta Blvd., West Lafayette, IN 47906). Overflow parking will be available on the public strees within the Winding Creek subdivision, or at Harrison High School (5701 N 50 W, West Lafayette, IN 47906) where a shuttle bus will be provided. Teams and individuals who advance will play in the State Finals next Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18 at Pairie View Golf Club. The top three (3) teams advance to the Finals, in addition to the top three (3) low individuals excluding those individuals who advance with a team. Covenant qualified for State in 2022.
