Boys Soccer is State Bound

Covenant boys soccer is knocking on the door of its first ever State Championship after a thrilling penalty shootout win over Bethany Christian in the Semi-State round. The IHSAA postseason bracket shifted this year and sent the Warriors into the northern division resulting in a State Championship matchup with crosstown rival, the Greenwood Christian Cougars out of the south. The Cougars were responsible for ending Covenant's 2023 campaign in the regional championship round, but the Warriors did get the better of them in a season opening 4-2 victory back on August 20. A lot of soccer has been played since then, and along the way, the Warriors picked up the Indiana Crossroads Conference outright crown, nearly knocked off Cathedral in the City Tournament, and have gained momentum through Sectional, Regional, and Semi-State victories. Head Coach Josh Brown was also named City Coach of the Year! Friday will mark the program's fourth appearance in the 1A Finals, having been in 2012, 2017, and 2018. The Warriors were runners-up on all three previous trips. The 2024 boys soccer team has its sights set on becoming just the second State Champion squad in school history along with the 2020 football team. Let's give them all the support we can this week as they prepare! We hope to see everyone at Carroll Stadium on Friday night. Game details are below, but stay tuned in to our social media channels for more info about Friday's pep rally, sendoff, and more. Are you a student wishing to ride the CCHS fan bus?
