The City Alliance fall tournament slate really gets going this week as both boys tennis and boys and girls soccer begin. Check out the tournament info for each sport below (updated ticket info and schedules can be found at indycityalliance.org): Girls Golf - September 17 The Warrior girls golf team finished fourth overall behind Heritage Christian, Bishop Chatard, and Cathedral that was played once again at South Grove Golf Course. Covenant freshman, Hannah Keen, shot an 84 for 7th place overall. Her performance earned her a spot on the 2024 Girls Golf All-City Team. Congratulations, Hannah! Boys Tennis - September 25-29 This year's boys tennis City Tournament will be played from Wednesday through Saturday this week. The coaches will convene on Tuesday to seed each position before the action gets started at various sites on Wednesday. The second round will take place on Thursday before setting up Saturday's semi-finals and finals. Locations are still yet to be determined, but Thursday and Saturday's matches will be at one site. Boys & Girls Soccer - September 26-October 2 The boys and girls City Soccer tournament brackets have the Warriors at home to open play for both teams. The undefeated boys team will take on Crispus Attucks on Thursday, September 26 at CCHS at 5 p.m. A win will advance them to the quarterfinals that are also set to take place at Covenant on Saturday, September 28 at 12 p.m. against the winner of Cardinal Ritter and Scecina—two teams the Warriors have previously beaten on their way to clinching an Indiana Crossroads Conference Championship. The girls are set to open up against the winner of Arsenal Tech and Providence Cristo Rey on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Wins on Saturday will likely put either or both of the boys and girls teams in a quarterfinal matchup with the Cathedral Irish on Monday, September 30. Championships will be played on October 2 at Bishop Chatard High School. Girls Volleyball - October 7-10 The Warrior girls volleyball team has had an up and down season, but they still have a great opportunity to make their mark as they battle in the City Tournament and IHSAA state tournament. They will host Christel House Academy on Monday, October 7 at 6 p.m. for the opening round. A win will advance them to a Tuesday quarterfinal matchup at Bishop Chatard—a team Covenant hopes to avenge themselves against a 3-0 loss back on September 17. Semi-finals and finals are played at Heritage Christian on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10 respectively. *Tickets are required for entry into the soccer and volleyball tournaments. They are $7 for adults and $3 for students and seniors, and all persons in attendance must have a ticket even when Covenant is the host (no season or Shield Club passes, CCHS students must pay). Boys & Girls Cross Country - October 12 The cross country City Championships will be run again at Graham Martin Park on Saturday, October 12. The girls race will start at 9 a.m. followed by the boys at 9:45. There is no admission fee for the event. Come out and support our Warrior runners!
