Following a landmark season that saw the program capture its first-ever Indiana Crossroads Conference (ICC) Championship and a regional berth, the Covenant Christian boys golf team is ready to hit the links for 2026. The Warriors officially open their varsity campaign this Saturday, April 4, at the highly competitive Brownsburg Invitational. Head Coach Jim Kulhanek, entering his second year at the helm, is optimistic about the trajectory of the program. After exceeding expectations last spring, the focus has shifted to sustaining that success through a rigorous off-season. "We had some nice, unexpected surprises last year, and this year could be even better," said Kulhanek. "Our off-season training program continues to improve, and I am looking forward to seeing where we are. We have great energy and leadership from our upperclassmen; it should be fun watching our team grow and develop together." With 15 athletes currently on the roster, the atmosphere at practice has been highly competitive. While the top of the lineup features familiar faces, Kulhanek notes that the competition for the fourth and fifth varsity slots remains "wide open." The Warriors return a strong core of experienced players while welcoming a promising group of newcomers. Covenant returns senior Caleb Faris, junior Conner Clark, and sophomores Andrew Herbert, Brayden Mansard, and Nathan Blackney. Coach Kulhanek also expects to see contributions from seniors Luke Mourer and Tyson Hall along with freshmen Mason Stephens, Luke Mansard, and Sam Ellis. Other team members vying for spots include sophomore Josiah Bowers, along with freshmen Koen Hill, Ollie Howard, Caleb Reagen, and Sutter Thomas. While the varsity squad starts this weekend, the JV team will kick off its season on Wednesday, April 8, in a dual match against Avon at Eagle Creek. As the Warriors navigate the 2026 season, they remain focused on defending their title in the ICC and making another deep postseason run.
