The CMS XC team competed Monday 8/25 in the Greensburg Invitational. With 29 teams and 547 runners, this race is a spectacle of running! The boys continued their strong season with a 9th place finish out of 28 teams, including some of the best teams in the state. Maysn Welter continues to impress, finishing 3rd (10:52) in the field of 174 boys. Leo Moyer ran a personal best 11:10 to finish 5th and Desmond Shipman, also with a PB of 11:15 in 9th. Other contributors were Graham Pflum 102nd (14:06), Alexander Streuwing 107th (14:17.2), Noah Rees 103rd (14:17.5) and Hunter Gregory 137th (15:29) The girls competed with a complete team for the first time this season placing 19th. Caroline Roberts placed 55th (14:20) and Cree Slater 69th (14:46) to lead the ladies. They were supported by Riley Smith 131st (18:40), Jaylynn Parsons 144th (20:01) and Kyra Branstetter 156th (22:34). Connor Evans led the Spartans in the reserve race placing 41st with a personal best time of (15:08) followed by Landon Bales 50th in a season best (15:29). Aiden Carr 67th (17:25), Boyd Durstine 68th (17:27) and Nathais Rude 84th (19:17) rounded out the Spartan reserves. The team returns to action on Thursday 8/28 at 5:30, hosting St. Mary's of Greensburg on their home course at CHS!
