The Spartans took the short bus ride to Liberty to compete against the host Patriots and the East Central Trojans on Tuesday 8/19. The CMS runners ran while showing much improvement. Coach Gibbs was especially pleased with the competitive spirit his team displayed. The boys were running without their number four team mate, which made the race more competitive. Even with that disadvantage, the boys battled hard. They tied with East Central for first place, but lost the ensuing tie breaker, coming in second. Maysn Welter led the charge, leading from start to finish, in a time of 11:06. Close behind was Leo Moyer (11:19) in second and Desmond Shipman (11:26) in third, with the Spartans taking the top three spots Noah Rees surged into 12th with a personal best time of 14:02.
