April 23, 2026 vs. East Central Connersville Varsity Spartans fell to East Central 9-4 on Thursday. East Central were the first to get on the board in the first when Wynn was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Bentley hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Connersville Varsity Spartans tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. In the top of the second, East Central broke up the tie when Reis singled, scoring one run. Then an error followed to extend the lead to 3-1. A triple by Reynolds extended the East Central lead to 6-1 in the top of the third inning. Reis hit a solo home run to right field in the top of the fifth for the East Central. Long homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the sixth for the East Central. Reynolds earned the win for East Central. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Bentley pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Connersville Varsity Spartans. The hurler gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) while, striking out seven and walking one. Ellis took the loss for Connersville Varsity Spartans. The starting pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking three. Connersville Varsity Spartans tallied nine hits in the game. Bentley drove the middle of the lineup, leading Connersville Varsity Spartans with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
