The Boys Golf team competed in a 4-way match at Brook Hill Golf Club on Monday evening. The Spartans came away with a 2nd place finish. Batesville won the event with a team score of 159, the Spartans shot a 169, Franklin County was 3rd with a 173. Oldenburg's score was not tallied due to not having enough golfers. Trey Hughes continued his strong play and tied for 2nd overall with a 38. Talon Sherwood (42), Logan Young (43) and Aiden Gibbs (46) completed the Spartan scoring. Levi Marszalek finished with a 49. It was nice to avenge Franklin County on their own course after our invitational on Saturday. Batesville is a solid team and we need to make better decisions on the course to be more competitive with them. I don't feel they are a more talented team than us, but we need to work on a few mistakes we are repeatedly making to challenge them. The Spartans will host a 3-way match against conference foes Rushville and East Central at home on Friday with the match beginning at 5:00.
