The Boys Golf team traveled to Richmond on Saturday to compete in the Joe Moehring Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club. The Spartans came away with a 2nd place finish in the 14-team field. Senior Trey Hughes finished 3rd overall with a round of 83. Talon Sherwood (90), Aiden Gibbs (92), and Logan Young (95) completed the Spartan scoring. Levi Marszalek came in with a 99. Forest Hills is the toughest golf course in east central Indiana. Given how tough this course is and dealing with the elements of cold temperatures, wind, and steady rain throughout the day, it's difficult for any team to score much lower than that. There were a lot of really good golf teams here today, and though we would never be pleased with a 360 score, you can't be completely disappointed knowing that you were up against great teams, a tough course, and Mother Nature. The Spartans will compete in a 4-way match at Brook Hill Golf Club on Monday against Franklin County, Oldenburg, and a very talented Batesville team. The match is scheduled to begin at 5:00.
