The 7th grade white boys basketball team were back in action on Wednesday night as they traveled to Cambridge City to take on the Lincoln Golden Eagles. The Spartans came home with a 49-27 victory. Kash Cotten had 18 points at the half as the Spartans were up by over 20 by halftime. During that break we discussed how well we have been playing so far, we just had to clean up some stuff on the defensive end and to be more patient with the ball on the offensive end. I challenged the boys to keep competing and to take care of the ball. During the second half the Spartans couldn’t make as many shots compared to the first half, but they still played hard by playing with intensity and crashing the boards. I was really proud of how well the boys competed throughout the entire game and doing the little things on both ends of the floor that lead to big moments. Leading the way for Connersville was Kash Cotten with 22 points. Koltyn Kafka added 12 points of his own to power the offense. The rest of the scoring for the team was a balanced effort across the roster. The Spartans are now 1-2 on the season and will welcome St. Mary's School on Tuesday December 16th.
