The 8th-grade volleyball team fought hard all day Saturday at the Quincy tournament. In Pool Play, they beat Coldwater and then split with Hillsdale and PawPaw. The ladies were seeded 5th out of 12 teams at the end of Pool Play, which advanced them to the Gold Bracket. They met Quincy in their first bracket-play game and beat them in two games, 25-23 and 25-17, advancing to the semifinals. They were then matched up with Kalamazoo Premier (Club) for the semifinal game. Kalamazoo came out strong, but the Lady Jackets never stopped fighting. They eventually lost in two, but walked out of the gym with their heads held high. Proud is an understatement for how I feel about this team. On and off the court, every player contributed to Saturday’s success. Their positive attitude and continuous encouragement for one another throughout the day were truly remarkable. Great job, ladies! I am so proud of every one of you.
