Concord Athletic Department

Under the leadership of Head Coach Clint Alexander, this incredible team etched its name in the history books by setting a school record with 10 wins in a single season! The journey began on August 24th with a tough 14-7 opening-night win over Hanover-Horton. After a hard-fought setback against Union City, Coach Alexander’s squad responded in commanding fashion, pitching a 34-0 shutout against Homer and making a statement with a 47-20 win over Big-8 rival Jonesville. Following a narrow 12-11 loss to Reading, the team ignited an explosive midseason run. They dismantled Athens 56-0, powered past Springport 51-6, earned a hard-fought 28-19 win over Quincy, and capped the regular season with a 12-0 shutout against Manchester! When November arrived, the postseason belonged to the defense. In the Pre-District opening round, the defense recorded a 20-0 shutout in a playoff rematch with Jonesville. One week later, they captured the District Championship with another dominant 24-0 shutout over Pittsford! The momentum continued as they claimed the Regional Championship with a 30-13 win over Detroit Benedictine, pushing all the way to the State Semifinals. Boasting five total shutouts, an explosive offense, and a historic 10-3 record, Coach Clint Alexander and the 2001 squad set a standard of excellence that still stands today. 2001 Concord Varsity Football # Player 1 John Thorrez 2 Tim McMaster 4 Sean Riddle 7 Clint Barton 11 Eric Ropp 20 Brandon Hotchkin 21 Ryan Moskal 22 Jeff Williams 27 Dustin Hotchkin 29 John Poleski 32 Max Clark 33 Travis Sparks 41 Travis Mandrelle 44 Marcus Beeson 52 Adam Arbuckle 56 Kevyn Hanes 58 Chris Bradley 61 Kevin Lauer 63 Cody Provost 75 Alex Crowley 76 Chet Crowley 78 Nick Bradley 79 Tom Clark 82 Josh Riske 89 Justin Charles Head Coach: Clint Alexander Assistant Coaches: Bruce White, Isaac Cottrell, Tim Freeman Strength and Conditioning Coach: Steve Mandreger Athletic Trainer: Jill Williams
