Concord Athletic Department

On Tuesday night the Concord Cross Country teams traveled to Addision to compete in the Keunner Invitational. There were 14 schools all going to the start line to do battle. In the end our Boys team came out in 5th place with 130 points. The team from Blissfield earned the championship but our Yellowjacket athletes competed in the heat and can be very Proud of the effort they put forth today. Some of the highlights include the following. Keaton Smith placed 19th and earned a Medal while running his fastest time of the season. Also running to their fastest time this year was Finn Hutchinson, Zane Jason and Brandon Watkins. A special note for Brandon as he ran 2 minutes and 29 seconds faster than he did a week ago. Great Job Branndon. Congratulations to Kadin Shook as he stepped up and ran his fastest time ever. Liam Bauman and Jase Herendeen both had very solid races as each of them showed Leadership as they helped their teammates improve their times from the last race. Way to go Guys! Up next was our Lady Jackets as they went into the night undefeated and had no plans to see that streak end but Blissfield rose to the occasion and came out on top, as your Concord Ladies finished in second place. Congratulations to Audrey Pyle, Haley Stimer, Audrey Rinehart and Olivia Chadwell as they all earned a Medal. Also Congratulations to Olivia as she once again ran her fastest time ever for a 5k. Mya Barrett had a very solid race as she placed 30th to help her teammates secure the runner-up finish. Awesome Job Ladies. Up next for the High School Cross Country will be the Springport Invitational on September 9th.
