It’s going to be a high-stakes weekend for Chelsea Athletics! With legendary rivalries taking center stage and postseason positioning on the line, the Bulldogs are scattered across the region looking to make a statement. Friday, May 8: Rivalry Night at Home Friday's slate is headlined by a massive showdown on the pitch and critical conference reps on the links and diamond. Varsity Boys Golf @ Skyline Invite (9:30 AM): The Bulldogs hit the road early for the prestigious Skyline Invite. Following their dominant 159-stroke performance against Jackson earlier this week, the team is looking to prove they can go low against the area's top programs. JV Girls Soccer vs. Plymouth (4:00 PM): The future of the program takes on a tough Plymouth squad at home to kick off a soccer-filled evening. Varsity Softball vs. Columbia Central (4:30 PM DH): Grab your popcorn for a twin bill! The Bulldogs host the Golden Eagles for a doubleheader, looking to keep their bats hot after a productive start to May. FEATURE GAME: Varsity Girls Soccer vs. Dexter (5:30 PM): The Rivalry. There is no love lost when the Dreadnaughts come to town. After defeating Dexter 2-1 earlier this season, Chelsea looks to sweep the regular-season series in front of what is expected to be a rowdy home crowd. Saturday, May 9: Road Warriors & Tournament Tests Saturday sees our athletes traveling for cross-county battles and a huge opportunity in the pool. JV/V Baseball vs. Howell (10:00 AM DH): The Bulldogs host a powerhouse Howell program for a Saturday morning doubleheader. This will be a major barometer for Chelsea as they prepare for the gauntlet of the postseason. Varsity Boys Lacrosse @ East Lansing (10:00 AM): The Bulldogs head north to take on the Trojans. After showing incredible heart in their recent comeback attempt against Lincoln, the squad looks to put a full 48 minutes together on the road. Varsity Girls Water Polo @ Skyline (10:15 AM): The drama of the pool continues! After Ruby Jackson’s legendary half-pool buzzer-beater earlier this season, the Bulldogs return to Skyline to face the winner of the Skyline/Dexter opening match. A potential rivalry rematch with Dexter looms large. Good luck to all our Bulldogs! Let's defend the home turf and bring home some road wins!
