Grace Swank Has Lots Of Hits But Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars Fall To Churubusco By GameChanger Media Grace Swank collected three hits in three at bats, but Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars lost to Churubusco 9-8 on Friday. Swank hit a solo home run to left field in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and doubled in the third inning. Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars fell behind by five runs in the fifth inning, but then tried to fight back. Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars closed the gap by scoring on a ground out, a solo home run, a single, and a single. Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Swank singled, scoring one run, Kennedy Vice singled, scoring two runs, and Nevaeh Schoup grounded out, scoring one run. Churubusco flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Alyssa Marks that drove in three. Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars made the score 9-6 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Kierra Bolen grounded out, scoring one run, and Swank hit a solo home run to left field. Marks earned the win for Churubusco. The hurler gave up nine hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out two and walking four. Kensy Kimmell took the loss for Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars. The starting pitcher went four and one-third innings, allowing eight runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking one. Avery Deter collected two hits for Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars in four at bats. Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars turned one double play in the game. Marks drove the middle of the lineup, leading Churubusco with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Churubusco were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
