Central Noble Girls Track Team Shows Heart and Hustle at 2025 Sectionals

ANGOLA, IN — The Central Noble girls track team brought determination and a strong team spirit to the 2025 IHSAA Girls Sectional 8 meet, hosted at Angola High School on May 20. While the team finished 12th overall with 18 points, several standout performances and scoring contributions highlighted the depth and effort of the Lady Cougars. ⸻ 🏃♀️ Sprint and Hurdle Highlights Jozelynne McFall, a sophomore, delivered one of the team’s top performances in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing 3rd overall in the finals with a time of 17.41, earning 6 points for Central Noble. McFall had also won her preliminary heat with a time of 17.61 seconds. In the 100-meter dash, Whitney Replogle (JR) ran a 14.37 in the prelims, placing her just outside the top-8 final qualifiers. Teammate Kaitlyn Dunafin (JR) followed close behind at 14.96. In the 200 meters, Central Noble had solid representation from Cheslynn Showalter (SO) and Jaylee Slone (FR), finishing in 29.51 and 29.55 respectively in the prelims—strong efforts against tough competition. ⸻ 🏅 Relay Teams Step Up Central Noble’s 4x100m relay team of McFall, Showalter, Slone, and Replogle finished in 5th place with a time of 53.64 seconds, contributing 4 points to the team total. The 4x400m relay team, made up of Suryah Steele (FR), Kaitlyn Dunafin (JR), Whitney Replogle (JR), and Adelaide Hopf (JR), finished 12th overall with a time of 4:56.15. ⸻ 💪 Strong Showing in the Throws Mallory Bremer (JR) put together an excellent performance in the shot put, securing 4th place with a mark of 31’ ½”, earning 5 points. Bremer also placed 7th in the discus, throwing 91’ 9”, good for 2 more team points. Her consistency across both events made her one of Central Noble’s top scorers at the sectional. ⸻ 💥 Jumping Into the Points Freshman Jaylee Slone continued to make her mark by scoring 1 point with an 8th place finish in the high jump, clearing 4’ 8”. In the long jump, Whitney Replogle landed a solid 14’ 6¾”, placing 14th, while Lydia Skinner (JR) followed with a 13’ 4” mark, placing 21st. ⸻ 🏁 Distance Runners Give It Their All Adelaide Hopf (JR) showed great endurance and heart in both the 1600m and 800m runs. She placed 9th in the 1600m with a time of 5:57.71, and 11th in the 800m with 2:41.47. Freshman Suryah Steele also competed in the 800m, running 3:04.20. ⸻ 🐾 Final Thoughts Central Noble’s girls track team may not have topped the leaderboard, but they showcased a team full of competitors who left everything on the track and in the field. From experienced juniors and seniors to promising underclassmen, the Lady Cougars continue to build a program defined by perseverance, teamwork, and passion for the sport. With returning scorers like McFall, Bremer, and Hopf, the future of Central Noble girls track looks bright.
