Central Noble Varsity Cougars Walk It Off Against Lakewood Park Christian By GameChanger Media It came down to the wire on Monday, as Central Noble Varsity Cougars grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 8-7, over Lakewood Park Christian. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the eighth when Jacob Chenoweth singled, scoring one run. Central Noble Varsity Cougars got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Landyn Champion hit a sacrifice fly, Landen Burkhart singled down the right field line, and Parker Boots singled down the right field line, each scoring one run. Lakewood Park Christian flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-3. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Treyton Fletcher doubled to center field, which helped Central Noble Varsity Cougars tie the game at five in the bottom of the fourth. A single by Shinn gave Lakewood Park Christian the lead, 7-5, in the top of the fifth. Ryne Keirn doubled down the left field line, which helped Central Noble Varsity Cougars tie the game at seven in the bottom of the seventh. Fletcher earned the win for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Young took the loss for Lakewood Park Christian. The hurler went one-third of an inning, giving up one run (zero earned) on one hit, striking out none and walking one. Ryan Bailey stepped on the bump first for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The hurler allowed seven hits and seven runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking one. Nixon stepped on the bump first for Lakewood Park Christian. The hurler allowed 12 hits and seven runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking five. Central Noble Varsity Cougars accumulated 13 hits in the game. Keirn led Central Noble Varsity Cougars with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day.
