Pitching Impressive As Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars Beat Columbia City By GameChanger Media Both teams were strong in the circle on Friday, but Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars defeated Columbia City 2-0. Grace Swank started the game for Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars and recorded 21 outs. Swank struck out 15 batters on the day. The hurler also gave up one hit and zero runs over seven innings while walking one. Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars were the first to get on the board in the first when E Hiss induced Swank to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. A single by Kennedy Vice extended the Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars lead to 2-0 in the top of the third inning. Hiss took the loss for Columbia City. The pitcher went seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out eight and walking two. Swank and Vice were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars. Kaitlyn Tilley, Vice, and Avery Deter each collected one hit for Central Noble Varsity Lady Cougars. E Taylor went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Columbia City in hits.
