Redick Zolman and Joselynne McFall Earn All-NECC at Conference Championship

ANGOLA, IN – May 9, 2025 – The Central Noble Cougars turned in a strong performance at the 2025 Northeast Corner Conference (NECC) Track & Field Championship at Angola High School, earning multiple All-NECC honors, several top-five finishes, and valuable postseason momentum. Boys’ Highlights: Zolman, Marker, Knafel Among Top Finishers Senior Redick Zolman powered the Cougar boys with an NECC title in the long jump, soaring to 21’8” to bring home 10 points and First Team All-NECC honors. Zolman also delivered a 3rd-place finish in the 400 meters (52.28), scoring 6 more points, and helped the 4x400 relay to an 8th-place finish alongside teammates Michael Slone, Jaxon Kitchen, and Keegan Knight. Other standout performances included: Adam Marker (SR) – Earned All-NECC Honorable Mention with a 4th place finish in shot put with a throw of 44'5.75" for 5 points. Jack Knepper (SO) – Threw a personal best of 125'10" in the discus to reach the finals and also competed in shot put. Kyle Knafel (JR) – Ran a strong double in the distance races: 9th in the 1600 (4:47.56) and 7th in the 3200 (10:14.85), earning 2 points. 4x800 Relay (Knafel, Knight, Kitchen, Ruger Lough) – Finished 7th in 8:48.23, adding 2 more points to the team total. Sophomore Michael Slone also posted a fast time of 11.88 in the 100 meters and 23.93 in the 200 meters, narrowly missing the top 8. Girls’ Highlights: McFall Earns All-NECC, Slone Shines in High Jump The Central Noble girls were led by sophomore Jozelynne McFall, who earned All-NECC honors with a 2nd-place finish in the 100 hurdles (17.07) and helped the 4x100 relay to a 4th-place finish in 52.66, alongside teammates Cheslynn Showalter, Jaylee Slone, and Whitney Replogle. Freshman Jaylee Slone cleared 4’10” in the high jump to tie for 5th place. Additional key performances: Whitney Replogle (JR) – Scored 1 point with an 8th-place finish in the 100 meters (13.67) and also competed in the long jump and both relays. Mallory Bremer (JR) – Took 5th in shot put with a throw of 32'9", scoring 4 points and also placed 10th in discus. 4x400 Relay (Steele, Dunafin, Replogle, Hopf) – Ran 4:47.68, placing 9th. Adelaide Hopf (JR) – Finished 9th in the 1600 meters (6:07.00), while Suryah Steele (FR) competed in multiple mid-distance events. The girls showed strong depth with multiple top-10 finishes across sprints, hurdles, distance, and throws. Looking Ahead: IHSAA Sectional Action With the NECC Championship in the books, the Cougars turn their attention to the IHSAA Sectionals at Angola on May 21 (Girls) and May 23 (Boys). With momentum, experience, and several athletes peaking at the right time, Central Noble will look to extend its postseason with qualifying performances across events. Go Cougars!
