Freeman Leads Central Noble Golfers to Top-10 Finish at DeKalb Invitational

Waterloo, IN – May 4, 2025 — The Central Noble boys golf team impressed at the DeKalb Invitational on Saturday, carding a team score of 349 to secure a 9th-place finish in a deep 18-team field at Bridgewater Golf Club. Leading the charge for the Cougars was Nick Freeman, who shot a team-best 80. Freeman displayed consistency and control throughout his round, shooting 37 on the front nine and closing with a 43 on the back. His performance placed him among the event’s top individual finishers. Senior Carter Meinka also turned in a strong performance, firing an 88 after a steady back nine of 46. Conner Fish followed closely with a 90, while Charlie Fleshman added a solid 91 to round out Central Noble’s scoring four. Hunter Halsey contributed a 93, showcasing the team’s depth and competitive edge. With all five golfers scoring under 95, Central Noble proved they can contend with some of the region’s top programs. The Cougars now turn their attention to upcoming conference play, aiming to build on this strong midseason performance as they prepare for postseason tournaments.
