Lady Cougars Battle to 6th Place Finish at Harriet Metz Classic

ALBION, Ind. – May 2, 2025 The Central Noble Lady Cougars delivered a competitive performance on their home track Friday night at the 2nd Annual Harriet Metz Classic, finishing 6th overall with strong showings in sprints, distance, hurdles, relays, and field events. Leading the charge for Central Noble was Whitney Replogle, who placed 2nd in the 100 meters with a time of 13.85 seconds, scoring 8 key points. Replogle also anchored the 4x100 relay team, which delivered one of the night’s most exciting performances, finishing 2nd overall in 52.91 seconds. She was joined by Jozelynne McFall, Cheslynn Showalter, and Jaylee Slone on the relay squad. McFall had a big night individually as well, placing 2nd in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.44, earning another 8 points for the Cougars. Teammate Madilyn Skinner added 2 more in the same event by finishing 7th (18.88). In the 200 meters, Showalter and Slone placed back-to-back in 5th and 6th, running 28.77 and 28.90 respectively, combining for 7 points. Slone also shined in the high jump, clearing 4’10” to secure 3rd place and 6 points. Adelaide Hopf provided a steady presence in the distance events, finishing 5th in the 1600 meters (5:57.55) and 6th in the 800 meters (2:40.61), collecting 7 points. She also anchored the 4x400 relay, where Central Noble placed 6th (4:43.79) with a lineup of Suryah Steele, Kaitlyn Dunafin, Replogle, and Hopf. In the field, Mallory Bremer put together a strong showing in both throwing events. She placed 3rd in the shot put with a mark of 30’9.5” and added a 5th place finish in the discus (84’8”), scoring a total of 10 points. Taylor Custer and Lily Hopf also competed in the throws, with Custer adding an 8th-place finish in the 400 meters (1:10.51) for 1 point. While the Lady Cougars didn’t land in the top five as a team, their depth and consistent scoring across a wide range of events highlighted the program’s strength and versatility. The team will look to continue building momentum as they gear up for conference meets and postseason competition.
