Central Noble Places 4th at 39th Annual Invitational with Strong Performances Across the Board

ALBION, Ind. – May 2, 2025 The Central Noble boys’ track and field team delivered a well-rounded effort Friday night at the 39th Annual Central Noble Invitational, finishing 4th out of the competing schools with a total of 67 points. Senior standout Redick Zolman led the Cougars with a dominant performance in the long jump, winning the event with a mark of 20’6”, good for 10 points. Zolman also impressed on the track, placing 2nd in the 400 meters with a time of 53.20 and contributing to the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, both of which earned valuable points. Fellow senior Michael Slone continued to shine in the sprints. He placed 5th in the 100 meters (11.78) and 4th in the 200 meters (23.75), also anchoring the 4x100 relay, which finished 5th in 47.41 seconds. Slone was a key leg in the 4x400 relay, which finished just outside the top three at 3:43.23, earning 4 more team points. Distance runner Kyle Knafel turned in a pair of strong performances, finishing 6th in the 1600 meters (4:47.30) and 4th in the 3200 meters (10:22.33), contributing 8 total points. He also earned 2 more points in the high jump by clearing 5’4” and ran a leg in the 3rd-place 4x800 relay (8:58.03), joined by Keegan Knight, Jaxon Kitchen, and Ruger Lough. In the field events, Adam Marker added a big boost for the Cougars, taking 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 46’0”, good for 8 points. Jack Knepper threw a personal-best 119’10” in the discus, finishing 6th for 3 more points. Other contributors included: • Dalton Bergman, 6th in the pole vault (10’6”), earning 3 points. • Ruger Lough, 7th in the 3200 meters, clocking 11:10.14, scoring 2 points. • Central Noble’s 4x800 relay team, placing 3rd for 6 points. The Cougars showed depth across sprint, distance, and field events, with points coming from nine different disciplines. While they didn’t crack the top three as a team, their 4th-place finish was fueled by standout individual efforts and strong teamwork in the relays. Central Noble will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for conference and sectional competition in the coming weeks.
