Fifth-Inning Burst Enough To Lead Eastside Blazers Past Central Noble Varsity Cougars By GameChanger Media Eastside Blazers defeated Central Noble Varsity Cougars 15-5 on Tuesday thanks in part to nine runs in the fifth inning. Eastside Blazers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Elijah Hankey was struck by a pitch, Cole Omspacher singled to center field, Gabe Guerra walked, Bryan Cuenca singled to left field, and Brayden Baatz walked, each scoring one run. Central Noble Varsity Cougars tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a home run to left field by Corbin Douglas, and a passed ball. Eastside Blazers took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Wyatt Shull hit a solo home run to left field, to give Eastside Blazers the leg up, 6-5. Eastside Blazers scored nine runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Baatz singled, scoring two runs, a passed ball scored two runs, Shull singled, scoring one run, Hankey singled, scoring one run, Guerra singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Bo Martin earned the win for Eastside Blazers. The hurler allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over two innings, striking out four and walking none. Treyton Fletcher took the loss for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The righty went three and one-third innings, allowing six runs on three hits, striking out five and walking five. Landyn Champion started the game for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The pitcher surrendered three hits and five runs over one inning, striking out two and walking four. Shull stepped on the bump first for Eastside Blazers. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Ryne Keirn, Douglas, Champion, Landen Burkhart, Brody Morgan, and Jacob Chenoweth each collected one hit for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. Keirn and Douglas each drove in two runs for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. Central Noble Varsity Cougars turned one double play in the game. Eastside Blazers piled up 10 hits in the game. Shull, Baatz, and Omspacher each collected two hits for Eastside Blazers. Baatz led Eastside Blazers with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Eastside Blazers had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. Martin and Omspacher led the team with two walks each.
