Lady Cougars Battle Hard, Fall to Lakeland 99-28 in Home Track Meet

Despite several strong individual performances, the Central Noble Lady Cougars Track and Field team fell to a tough Lakeland squad at home on Tuesday evening, with a final score of 99-28. Sprints & Relays Whitney Replogle led the Lady Cougars in the sprints, finishing fifth in the 100 meters (14.07) and placing fifth again in the 200 meters (29.41). Jaylee Slone captured third in the 200 meters (29.04), earning a point. The 4x100 relay team of Replogle, Jozelynne McFall, Cheslynn Showalter, and Slone crossed the line in 53.99 for a second-place finish, while the 4x400 team (Hopf, Replogle, Steele, and Custer) also placed second with a time of 5:03.37. Mid- and Long-Distance Adelaide Hopf was a standout in the distance events, taking second in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:01.99 and placing third in the 800 meters (2:49.45). Suryah Steele added a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters (1:10.30), earning one team point, and also placed fifth in the 800 meters. Hurdles The hurdle events were another bright spot for Central Noble. Jozelynne McFall earned second place in the 100-meter hurdles (17.77), while Madilyn Skinner secured third (19.74), contributing four points between them. Field Events Jaylee Slone was a top performer in the field, earning second place in the high jump with a clearance of 4’ 8” and taking third in the pole vault at 6’ 6”. Whitney Replogle also placed second in the long jump, leaping 14’ 7.5”. In the throwing events, Mallory Bremer delivered a first-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 29’ 9” and took second in the discus (92’ 6.5”), scoring eight points on her own. While the scoreboard favored Lakeland, the Lady Cougars showed depth, determination, and continued growth as they progress through the season.
