Central Noble Boys Track Falls to Lakeland in Home Meet

The Central Noble Boys Track and Field team put up a strong showing at home on Tuesday but ultimately fell short against Lakeland, with a final score of 72-51. Despite the team loss, several Cougars delivered standout individual performances across the track and field events. Sprints & Relays Michael Slone had a dominant night on the track, capturing first place in both the 100-meter dash (11.61) and 200-meter dash (23.87), contributing 10 points to the team’s total. He also anchored the 4x400 relay team, alongside Keegan Knight, Jaxon Kitchen, and Redick Zolman, to a second-place finish with an impressive time of 3:46.00. The 4x100 relay team (Duncan, Klink, Zolman, Slone) also claimed second place, clocking in at 50.63. Distance Events The distance crew continued to shine, highlighted by a win in the 4x800 relay with Knight, Ruger Lough, Kitchen, and Kyle Knafel finishing in 9:11.77. Knafel also earned second place in both the 1600 meters (4:51.94) and 3200 meters (10:47.94), while Kitchen took third in the 1600 (4:53.32). Lough added a first-place finish in the 800 meters (2:21.38). Hurdles Nathaniel Rice and Kayne Sparrow scored in the hurdle events. Sparrow placed third in the 300-meter hurdles (1:03.91), and Rice earned a point for third in the 110-meter hurdles (19.64). Field Events Central Noble claimed three first-place finishes in field events. Redick Zolman soared to a win in the long jump at 20’ 5”, Kyle Knafel cleared 5’ 6” to take the high jump title, and Adam Marker won the shot put with a throw of 42’ 8”. Marker also placed second in discus (113’ 1.5”), with Jack Knepper close behind in third (108’ 2”). Despite the loss, the Cougars showed depth and potential across the board, setting the stage for continued success as the season progresses.
