Central Noble Varsity Cougars Come Up Short Against Fort Wayne Canterbury By GameChanger Media Central Noble Varsity Cougars could not keep pace with Fort Wayne Canterbury 7-5 on Monday. Fort Wayne Canterbury were the first to get on the board in the second when Reed Hayes drew a walk, scoring one run. Central Noble Varsity Cougars captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the second after Parker Boots homered to center field, and Jacob Chenoweth singled to center field, each scoring one run. Central Noble Varsity Cougars added one run in the third after Fort Wayne Canterbury committed an error. Fort Wayne Canterbury captured the lead, 5-3, in the top of the fifth when Andrew Maloblocki doubled, scoring one run, and Ben Hardin singled, scoring two runs. Hayes homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the sixth for the Fort Wayne Canterbury. Maloblocki earned the win for Fort Wayne Canterbury. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Samuel Hoover took the loss for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The righty went two and one-third innings, surrendering four runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking none. Brayden Arbogast stepped on the bump first for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. The right-handed pitcher surrendered one hit and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking six. Brody Morgan went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Central Noble Varsity Cougars in hits. Boots and Chenoweth each drove in one run for Central Noble Varsity Cougars. Morgan stole two bases. Central Noble Varsity Cougars ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game. Hayes drove the middle of the lineup, leading Fort Wayne Canterbury with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Jack Landgraf, Noah Hayes, Hayes, Maloblocki, Grayson Achenbach, and Hardin each collected one hit for Fort Wayne Canterbury. Fort Wayne Canterbury had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Hayes, JP Rohwer, and Achenbach led the team with two walks each.
