Lady Cougars Leave Their Mark at NorthSide’s Legend Relays FORT WAYNE, Ind. – April 18, 2025 The Central Noble Lady Cougars showcased heart, hustle, and steady improvement at the prestigious Legend Relays hosted by NorthSide High School on Friday night. The team turned in multiple top finishes and point-scoring performances across the board in a competitive field of schools from around the area. Relay Teams Deliver Strong Results The Lady Cougars' relay teams once again proved to be a consistent source of points. The 4x100 relay team of Jozelynne McFall, Cheslynn Showalter, Whitney Replogle, and Jaylee Slone powered their way to a 7th place finish in 53.30 seconds, earning 3 points. That same foursome returned for the 4x200 relay, where they secured 8th place in 1:55.29, adding 4 more points to the team’s total. The 4x400 squad of Adelaide Hopf, Suryah Steele, Kaitlyn Dunafin, and Whitney Replogle rounded out the relay efforts with a 10th place finish in 5:03.21, good for 4 points. Sprint & Distance Events See Personal Growth Sophomores Jozelynne McFall and Kaitlyn Dunafin represented CN in the 100-meter dash, finishing 19th (14.24) and 20th (14.47), respectively, gaining valuable big-meet experience. In the 600-meter run, junior Kirsten Owen clocked in at 2:18.22, placing 19th. The 1600-meter run saw junior Adelaide Hopf fight her way to an impressive 11th place finish (6:12.70), scoring 2 points, while freshman Suryah Steele placed 19th (7:02.12) to chip in with another point. Hurdles Bring in Big Points McFall returned to the track for the 100-meter hurdles, where she crossed the line in 17.86 seconds to finish 10th and score 2 points. Freshman Madilyn Skinner also stepped up, finishing 17th in 19.09 to earn 3 more points for CN. Lydia Skinner competed in the 300-meter hurdles but was disqualified. Field Events Make a Statement The Lady Cougars continued to excel in the field. Jaylee Slone, a freshman, had a standout performance in the high jump, clearing 4’8” to place 5th overall and earn 4 points. In the long jump, juniors Whitny Replogle (13’8.5”) and sophomore Cheslynn Showalter (12’11.5”) placed 13th and 14th, respectively. Junior Mallory Bremer had a strong showing in both throwing events. She placed 7th in shot put (32’6.5”), scoring 2 points, and followed that up with a 5th place finish in the discus (86’2”), adding 5 more points. Freshman Lily Hopf also competed in the discus, finishing 21st.
