Lady Cougars Fall to East Noble in Tennis Action The Central Noble Lady Cougars came up short against East Noble, dropping a 4-1 decision at the varsity level while the junior varsity fell 7-0. At varsity, Kayla Kreger provided the lone highlight for the Cougars with a strong performance at No. 1 singles. Kreger controlled her match from the start, earning a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Makenna Strohm to secure Central Noble’s only point of the evening. East Noble responded by taking the remaining singles matches. At No. 2 singles, Whitney Weaver fell to Nora Laur 0-6, 0-6, while Abby Pliett battled in the first set before ultimately dropping her No. 3 singles match 5-7, 1-6 to Allison Shearer. The Knights sealed the team win by sweeping both doubles positions. McKynzie Carmien and Rheanne Sumagaysay were defeated 1-6, 1-6 at No. 1 doubles by Kayona Linthicum and Sophia Kline. At No. 2 doubles, Katie Mains and Anna Scott competed well but fell 1-6, 4-6 to Camila Gregory and Olivia Laur. In junior varsity play, the Cougars were unable to gain momentum as East Noble completed a 7-0 sweep. Mack Lortie competed in all three singles spots, falling in each match. In doubles action, Ashley Hernandez Vega and Molly Daniel put together competitive efforts, including a close 6-8 loss and a tight 6-7 (0) tiebreak defeat. Ella Miller and Abby Wallace also saw action at doubles, dropping their matches against East Noble pairs. The Lady Cougars will look to regroup and continue building as they move forward in their season.
