Meg Ahnert has been named the new swimming and diving head coach after spending the previous seven seasons as an assistant coach. Ahnert also teaches religion and science at Cathedral. Ahnert graduated from Butler University, where she was a captain of the swim team. She was a member of the 4x100 medley relay that broke the Butler school record and was named to the A-10 and Big East All-Academic Team. “As a family, we have ‘a million dreams’ for our future -- becoming head coach at Cathedral is next up on that list,” Ahnert said. “I look forward to the opportunities, challenges, and growth that lie ahead in the seasons to come.” Ahnert takes over the program from Ashley Hill, who is leaving Cathedral to coach the US National Water Polo Junior team and pursue college coaching opportunities. Hill revived the swim and dive program in terms of the overall number of swimmers and the competitiveness of the team.
