The Carroll Chargers secured their second regional title in program history with a thrilling 41-30 comeback victory over the previously undefeated Penn Kingsmen on Friday, November 14, 2025. The win, Carroll's eighth in a row, propels them to the semi-state round of the IHSAA Class 6A State Tournament, where they will host the Westfield Shamrocks. Game Recap: A Tale of Two Halves The game, held at Penn High School, was a dramatic battle of momentum. The Chargers found themselves trailing 9-0 early and later faced a 30-21 deficit entering the fourth quarter. However, a spectacular fourth-quarter rally, in which Carroll scored the final 20 points of the game, sealed the victory. Key Player Performances Carroll was led by a standout performance from junior quarterback Gabe Frisinger, who had a career night. Frisinger threw for an impressive 424 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 102 yards and another touchdown. Receiver Jaidon Van Pelt was his primary target, contributing 197 receiving yards. The defense also made crucial plays, including interceptions by Coleman Tipton and Linkoln Grabner. Asher Wagoner added three rushing touchdowns for the Chargers. Penn's season ended with their first loss, bringing their final record to 11-1. Up Next: Semi-State vs. Westfield The Chargers (9-3 overall record) will look to continue their championship quest as they host the Westfield Shamrocks on Friday, November 21. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Westfield (10-2 overall record) advanced to the semi-state by defeating Fishers 20-10, claiming their third straight regional title. The Shamrocks' defense has been a force this season, allowing an average of just 13.3 points per game, setting the stage for a challenging matchup for the high-scoring Carroll offense. This highly anticipated game is one of two Class 6A semi-state matchups in the state.
