The Carroll Chargers cemented their place in Indiana high school volleyball history Saturday night, sweeping Plainfield 3-0 to claim their second consecutive state championship. With set scores of 25-17, 25-17, and 25-17, Carroll capped off a flawless season that showcased dominance, depth, and championship poise. The victory marked Carroll’s 50th consecutive win, a streak that spans two seasons and has elevated the program to national prominence. Ranked as high as No. 4 in the country this fall, the Chargers lost only four sets all year—a testament to their consistency and competitive fire. Balanced Attack Leads the Way Outside hitters Sarah Stegall and Bailey Sinish led the offensive charge, each tallying 17 kills in the title match. Stegall added 4 digs, while Sinish contributed 11 digs, showcasing her two-way impact. Sophia Gisslen orchestrated the offense with precision, dishing out 42 assists while adding 2 blocks and 8 digs. Her court vision and tempo control kept Plainfield’s defense off balance throughout the match. Defensively, Cala Haffner anchored the back row with 13 digs, and Addi Shippy chipped in 7 kills to round out a well-distributed attack. A Season to Remember Carroll’s journey to the championship was defined by dominance. The Chargers swept nearly every opponent they faced, blending power, finesse, and relentless defense. Their ability to stay focused through a 50-match win streak speaks volumes about the team’s leadership and culture. Legacy Secured With two straight state titles, a 50-match win streak, and national recognition, Carroll’s 2025 squad will be remembered as one of the most formidable in Indiana volleyball history. For seniors like Shippy, Sinish, and Gisslen, the championship was a fitting final chapter to a remarkable high school career.
