The Lady Warrior tennis team wrapped up their season with a Sectional loss to Lake Central. But over all had not too bad a season. They ended up with a Varsity record of 8-9, with 3 of those losses being very close matches and placed 3rd at a the Covington invitational. Individual records consisted of Senior and #1 singles player Clara Reeder went 8-9, Junior Paris Vargas went 7-8 playing in both #2 and #3 singles spot. Junior A’melia Stewart ended with a 5-6 record also playing singles. Senior Janice Velez had a 6-1 record playing singles and doubles wherever needed. Playing varsity doubles we had all seniors: Kayla Mayes record was 5-12, Arianna Chavez 6-11, Natalia Acevedo 8-7 and Saliha Najib had the best record of the season going 10-5. Huge shout out to the JV players Alyssa Mills, Mariah Muros, Delre’L Parrish and Ja’mya Walker who showed lots of growth and improvement throughout the season and were not afraid to play multiple sets when outnumbered, and patiently sat and supported the Varsity players even when they didn’t get to play. Great season ladies!
