Softball Spilts Series with Grand Haven After Dramatic Game 2 Victory

The Fighting Scots defeated Grand Haven 5-4 in game two tonight thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at four with Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots batting in the bottom of the eighth when MacKenzie Parker singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. In the first inning, Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots got their offense started. Kala Bisterfeldt hit a solo homer. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots tied things up at four when Addy Lash doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Molly Lieske led things off in the pitcher's circle for Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots. The sophomore went all eight innings, throwing 114 pitches, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out six. The Scots racked up ten hits in the game. Parker, Bisterfeldt, and Lash all managed multiple hits for Caledonia. Lash, Bisterfeldt, and Parker each collected two hits to lead Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots. The girls will be back in action Thursday as they host West Ottawa.
