Bucs Offense Too Strong as Scots Drop Game 1

The Scots fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 10-5 loss to Grand Haven in game obe. Grand Haven scored early on a single in the first inning, and then responded with five in the second. Caledonia cut the lead to 10-5 scoring three runs in the fifth inning. Caledonia’s offense in the inning was led by sophomore Molly Lieske and junior Jaz Dana, all driving in runs in the inning. After both Mckenize DeVries and Kala Bisterfeldt reached base, Lieske was able to score both from a ground ball. Jaz Dana added the third run in the inning on a RBI single. Jaz Dana led things off in the pitcher's circle for Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots. Dana allowed 13 hits and ten runs over five innings, striking out one. Addy Olin threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. The Fighting Scots racked up ten hits on the day. Jaz Dana, MacKenzie Parker, and Kala Bisterfeldt each collected multiple hits for Caledonia Varsity Fighting Scots. The junior Dana went 3-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBIs to lead the Fighting Scots in hits.
