Scots fall to Dawgs 8-1. Rubber game set for Thursday

The Scots fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-1 loss to Grandville on Tuesday. Grandville took the lead on a single in the first inning.The Fighting Scots struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Grandville, giving up eight runs. Junior Nick Slater was on the pitcher's mound for Caledonia. Slater went four innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out two. Andrew Render, Jacob Stoczynski, and Drew Drennan each contributed in relief for Varsity Caledonia Fighting Scots. Canyon Veldhouse, Drew Drennan, Zack Maurer, and Michael Douglass each collected one hit to lead Caledonia. Game three of the series is set for Thursday at Grandville.
