The Girls Golf team got off to a fantastic start at its first OK Green jamboree of the season, taking first place in a competitive field. The course was extremely wet from the rain, making it challenging for most golfers. Despite the difficult conditions, the team stayed focused and took advantage of the conditions to pull away from the rest of the field. The four golfers who counted toward the team score, listed from the lowest round to highest, were: Emily Walbeck (12) Kendall Smith (10) Gabby Sternberg (9) Chloe Klapmust (10) As a team, they finished with a score of 177, narrowly edging out Reeths-Puffer, which finished at 179. It was an impressive opening performance for the team, especially given the course conditions. The girls showed great composure and determination to come away with the win. They are back in action this afternoon with a dual against Hudsonville at Broadmoor Golf Club.
