The Caledonia cross country teams had a strong showing Friday night at South Christian, competing in the Sunset Division under the light of almost a full moon. The boys finished 2nd, edging East Grand Rapids by just one point and finishing behind Lowell. Bennett Snapper led the Fighting Scots with a 4th-place finish, followed by Sean Thompson (8th), Bentley Nichols (16th), Cole McKenna (22nd), Jake Potgeter (30th), Nick Amorose (32nd), and Grant Feldpausch (44th). Caledonia had 10 runners medal in the top 50, with 18 boys recording personal records. The girls earned an impressive 3rd-place trophy out of 17 schools. Caledonia medalists included Akaela Daman (9th), Charlie Bont (18th), Kendall Van Ryn (20th), Elise Clarin (23rd), and Anna VanderWal (32nd). The ladies' next race will be back at the South Christian course on Wednesday, September 8th, in their first OK Green Jamboree of the season. It was a great night for both Fighting Scot teams, showcasing strong depth and plenty of fast times as the season gets underway.
